“ So we had big plans to go to town but unfortunately got snowed in and ended up having two meals at Goosefeather in the same night. The first meal was decent and filled us up, but the second meal was incredible, wow. You MUST order the duck. Everything about it was phenomenal. So hear me out, I love duck (grew up eating at all those Chinese banquet halls and duck was always the highlight for me). Going into this, I had doubts about it - could it really live up to the duck in the 626?! Yes - wow. My absolute favorite part of the meal was the duck sandwiches with granola / milk bread served with the duck. I literally finished eating it and then wanted to order it again. Our first meal consisted of the crab rice and the black pepper, which was good, but nothing like the duck. Nice ambiance, they checked in on us and refilled our waters frequently. TLDR: get the duck ”
“ Good food, good ambience and the hospitality is awesome! Highly recommend for brunch and dinner also. ”
“ Monday night 30th December 2024 After many recommendations from friends and family, even on food forums, we finally made it to the wonderful Dale Talde creation of Goosefeather, situated in the King Mansion of the Tarrytown House estate. Here you are greeted by massive rooms adorned for the holidays on this eve of the eve ending 2024. The waitstaff are very attentive and in constant formation to make your experience lovely. Goosefeather serves Cantonese inspired plates to be shared. Do start off with one of their delightful libations. I enjoyed the Jaded cocktail of tequila, mezcal, lime and ginger. Yummy! We were here to celebrate our anniversary and glad we did. We enjoyed - - - Spicy Salmon Tartar on crispy rice (sublime) - Duck Bao (delicious) - Kung Pao chicken wings (so good) - Supreme fried rice (Land/Sea/Air) beautifully blended flavours - Candied Walnut Shrimp (a bit sweet for my taste, but hubs enjoyed) The evening was topped off with complimentary champagne and dessert. Cheers to us! Wishing you all a fabulous happy new year! We will definitely return in 2025... We want to see the beautiful grounds next time. Thank you! ”
“ After years of having Goosefeather on my list of restaurants to visit, I was finally able to head there for brunch last weekend. The drive up to the restaurant was nice. The restaurant is located on an estate in Tarrytown with views overlooking the Hudson River. The restaurant serves Asian dishes and the drinks were phenomenal. We ordered a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese fried rice which was pretty good, but the star of the brunch was the mushroom and noodles. Goosefeather is a great date night spot and I will surely return for the dinner service one day! ”
“ Yeah the food is pretty decent however way over priced - come here for the trendy setting and beautiful estate it's placed on. Had a noodles and mushroom dish. Very good with super fresh shrooms. Also had dumplings. They were good ... filling was a mix of pork and veggies and was good. Dumpling Pasta not too thick. Has a seafood fried rice -- would have been perfect outside of the panko, breadcrumb, what ever that was sprinkled on them. Service is OK but reservations are an estimate, not on time. Reception with a tude. All acceptable if the food was upper level - it's not. Note this doesn't mean isn't good. ”
“ I just went to the bar as I was attending a retrear at the hotel. The drinks were good, a very good poor we had beer, wine & I had a JW Black on the rocks. Service was as good as it could be as there was just 1 bartender and an abnoxious corporate group that overtook the bar. One hostess was super nice and apologized for the crowd and gave us to go cups since we were staying on the property. This is for a special date night or romantic rendez-vous. If you like old-world aesthetics and nodern art this is your spot. Closes close to 10pm. ”
“ A beautiful restaurant with a sophisticated ambiance within a gorgeous property, the Tarrytown House Estate. We came sometime in the summer. Recommend sitting outside in good weather, overlooking the natural beauty and their garden! Usually we don't get many options as vegetarians, especially in similar kinds of restaurants. But we were pleasantly surprised, since we had a lot of options and each one was so delicious and well thought out. Since it's been a few months, I don't remember the names of the dishes I've photographed. Presentation and service were also great! I would say their food is a mix of Chinese and American inspired. I was told their menus are seasonal, which just shows the care they put into the quality of their menu selections and ingredients. I loved that the bill came inside an old engineering book, which was actually so incredible to peruse. We had an overall amazing experience! ”
“ Kind of a hidden gem - I was pleasantly surprised. First the ambience is unique. Situated in an 1840s mansion, you wouldn't expect to be eating Chinese American food. I particularly liked the crispy rice, the roast duck, and the baos. The shiumai was a bit too salty. It's on the pricier side but I think worthwhile given where it's located (there's a lack of other options in the area). Service is good. Self Parking is easy. The property itself is beautiful, we went on the weekend and they were setting up for a wedding. Would recommend if you are in the area. ”
“ I had been wanting to come here for a long time! I'm a fan of Chef Dale Talde since Top Chef and have heard great things about his food and about this restaurant from a lot of people. Party of 4, early-ish dinner on a Sunday night, sitting outdoors on the patio. (We confirmed with staff that there would be heat lamps if it was cold out.) We reserved a few weeks ahead and ended up blessed by warm temps. The property and the restaurant building are all lovely! Cashless restaurant - credit card only. The menu has good labeling for Vegetarian and Gluten Free items. The staff was also helpful with other dietary preferences (one person in our party doesn't eat seafood.) We ordered everything to share for the 4 of us and it was the perfect amount of food: Wok charred greens Smashed crispy fingerling potatoes 2 orders of crispy shrimp bao (there are 2 pieces per order) Dry-aged beef potstickers Black pepper beef, broccoli Char siu Berkshire pork belly We also ordered 2 cocktails, 1 mocktail and 2 beers. Everyone enjoyed their respective drinks. I want to come back and try more of the veg and the seafood items. The staff was great to clear the table inbetween courses, ask if we are done with our cocktails before removing the glass, and explain each plate of food as it is brought out. ”
“ The restaurant is beautiful and I would totally come back, but it does seem more of a cocktail and appetizer type of deal as opposed to a full meal. For drinks, we got the No More Drama and Mr Wrong which were both fantastic. For food, we did the Brussel sprouts, potstickers, crispy shrimp bao and supreme fried rice. All were good but not great which is unfortunate for the price. Service wise, everyone we interacted with was very friendly and kind. However we didn't see a server from the time we ordered to the time our check was brought out to us, so we were desperate for water by the end and also probably would have done another cocktail if we had the chance. So nothing very bad about Goosefeather but for the price and overall experience, I do feel it's more of a sit at the bar and order a cocktail and app type of place. ”
